Murphy & Murphy, CPA, LLC was founded by Thomas J. (Tim) Murphy on September 1, 1978 and is a full-service certified public accounting firm, with particular expertise in the areas of taxation, auditing, retirement planning, estate planning, business valuations, litigation support, and banking. Our firm serves a wide variety of clients, large and small, in diverse industries. Regardless of the client’s size or industry, we treat each and every engagement with the utmost dedication, personalized service, confidentiality and professionalism.

As part of our commitment to our clients to provide the highest quality professional service, Murphy & Murphy, CPA, LLC participates in the AICPA’s Peer Review Program and undergoes a peer review every three years. The aim of the peer review is to determine whether our firm’s system of quality control meets AICPA requirements and whether our firm complies with that system. We are extremely proud of our unblemished peer review record; in every peer review, our firm has consistently been found to conform in all respects with AICPA’s standards for quality control.

The firm currently employs 26 professionals, serving its clients from offices in Clinton, Maryland and La Plata, Maryland. Our professionals include Certified Public Accountants, Certified Financial Planner™ certificants, Certified Valuation Analysts, a tax attorney/CPA, and an Information Systems Specialist. Together, they bring a wealth of experience to our firm and enable us to offer a vast array of services, including, but not limited to, business and tax planning, IRS representation, estate planning, retirement planning, accounting and auditing, and litigation support.
